Again, no activity

Two days and no activity on site what so ever!

No one has been on site on Monday and Tuesday.

I had couple of driveway concreter and landscapers come in to quote for the job.

Looks like the front slop is bit too steep to get the driveway done in any usable and ecstatic way. Slop to the steps is way too ugly. One option is to fill up the driveway till end of the steps landing, just below the first rise, then have a fall. The fall can be edged by hedges, followed by gentle, nearly flat lawn.

My basic hand sketch of the design concept.

Need to chat with our SS in this regards, but he is not available and not responding to my SMS or email.

I can just see another issue rising up and Masterton doing its own thing and later forced to rip out things back.

I'm getting fed up with their bad attitude and unresponsiveness to my requests.

Painters finishing off

At lunch time, the painters were finishing off the paint job. The lower eaves are now painted too. Just hope it won't rain, as the roof tiles are not in place yet due to the safety railing and rain can ruin the paint job.

They will be back once the flooring is done, to finish off the skirting.

I have not inspect it yet, but looks like they did a good job on the paint.

Next two weeks I hope would be the finishing off all electrical and data cabling work, as well as shower screens. The main bathroom vanity basin should also be in.

Toilets and bathroom mirrors I expect to go in too.

16 & 17 of May are the upstairs flooring installation days. I expect floor tiles to follow the week after.

Then, PCI by end of May.

Another slow week

So far work was only done on Monday, the painters and the front and laundry slab.

Finally had an indication from our SS via SMS that PCI will be end of May.

It is really frustrating!

Front slab & painting

Looks like on Monday the painters have finished their work.

The front slab concrete was also poured in on Monday

Now that the front slab is one, tiles should be next for them, once fully dried.

The back laundry steps done.

Front door undercoat done.

Few pictures of the internal paint and door handles.

Internal garage door with lock

Linnen

Bathroom accessories installed.
Ensuite

Toilet

Main bathroom

What Da! Towel rail behind and along the way! Some people have no common sense. Doh! This will have to be changed. Will move it to the wall on the left of basin.

More progress

Painters were working today (Saturday). Paint should finish by end of next week.

Kitchen cornices done. Looks really nice finish now.

The vent hole for upstairs bath plumbing access. There is another one like it in the formal dining room.

The house as it stands today.

Front door slab

By lunch time, the front door slab formwork was now in place. I hope the concrete would be poured in today or Monday.

The back laudry steps landing also has its formwork in place.

The garage door also installed. Will have closed picture later, as workers were going in and out.

The bedroom sliding door rails installed.

Painting is still in progress. Possible paint end date is end of next week.

Wet areas complete

The scaffolding is now down and the house can be seen.

Painters were running the second coat and painting the internal doors.

The laundry tub is installed

Rangehood ducting to outside is installed.

The main bathroom bath and ensuite spa are now installed. While there, the shower screen guy was measuring the shower areas. So, I expect that to happen by next week too.

The balcony railing and privacy screen is also installed.

The corner, under the stairs might need cornices put in.

Scaffolding down

Finally the scaffolding is down and you can see the house now.

It was late evening (7pm) when I dropped by to see they have finished the balcony railing as well. Too dark to take any photos.

Peeking in the window with a torch, the bath is no longer sitting in the formal lounge room. I hope they placed it in place.

The internal garage door also had a wet paint.

I might give a visit during my lunch tomorrow and see where things are up to inside.

As far as the sign is concerned, they can shove it up their ass!

Yet another re-selection!

And YES! We have to re-select our laminate timber flooring as well.
Got a call from the supplier saying the laminate timber flooring we chose is now discontinued!
I wonder when Masterton will get the idea that selecting colours 6-8 months ahead is NOT working.
Lucky, the sales person will post samples for me to chose from, saving me 2 hours drive, each way!

At the same time, the flooring is booked in for 16th of May. So that means no PCI till mid next month. Only recently the Site Supervisor told me PCI end of April.
Is he expecting to do PCI before flooring is done? Not if I have a say in it.

Breath in, breath out...Relax...

Is Masterton serious?!

Just drove by at lunch time to day to see if any work being carried out. I had no intention going in even if there was someone there, as not much would have changed from last Thursday Well the answer was NO, but, this is a poster added today.

Is Masterton fucken serious?!

Absolute bullshit! I wish they did work just as fast as they place posters and notices.

First they stop me and block me from going in after hours. Fair enough. Now they don't want me visiting even if workers are there and OK with them. Plus, the Site Supervisor keeps postponing visits week after week.

It is getting on my nerves real bad...

Paint undrcoat nearly done

Today the painters could have finished all paint undercoat, and they have as far as they could. But since the tilers did not finish, that means they will have to come back later to finish off the undercoat, extending the delay for another week by the time the paint is done. That is if the tilers are back sometime this week.

Another mess-up by Masterton? our Site Supervisor? or the sub-contractors; once they do some work, get paid by Masterton, then they move on to the next job, only to come back when they have extra time?

I only know this because at lunch time I drove by, and they painters were sitting having a break and when I asked about undercoat being finished today, they told me wet area tiles are still not finished. They did not look happy about it as they could have finished all the undercoat for sure.

I mean, they could just over paint, under where the tiles would go?

Well, at least I can say they are doing a good job and very delicate in their work, to what I can see.
