Front door leveling

I think the front door leveling issue is fine.

As can be seen, the slab is perfectly level.

The lighter colour brick with the termite control plastic has a bit of angle.

The front slab darker brick level is fine too.

I think once the front door slab goes on, it will be all level. The front door slab will be 30mm below main slab level anyway.

I will ask the Site Supervisor if the 1cm difference will have any impact to the rest of the bricks on the left of the house.

The top of the door, where the metal beam is, looks level. I guess, balanced by bit of extra mortar in between bricks.

Very slow progress

So far this week, all we had is the kitchen installed and most of the granite bench-tops. Main bathroom is still missing.

Most of the internal architraves done, but not complete. only 2 of 3 wardrobe doors done.

Most days, hardly any work done, or non at all.

Is my eye playing tricks or the gap under the main door bigger to the left? I did take the photo with the guide line parallel to the door, plus you can see the slab on the left, but not on the right... You can see on the right the gap is below the brick mortar, but above the mortar on the left. The brown bricks below will also show the main bricks behind are not level.

I'm sure a "she'll be right mate" will be the comment.

Comments welcome...

Sand delivered

Looks like the sand and cement for the tiles have been delivered, but no tiles as yet. Disappointing, since I had to leave work the other day to travel all the way to Seven Hills to re-select the main tiles, and they did say, it would be delivered this week.

I Think more internal architrave work is in progress, as I can see the garage internal door now has it.

Kitchen complete

Visit at lunch time (on the way back from tile selection), while workers were there finishing off the granite benchtops, and took some photos.

Ensuite vanity

Main bathroom vanity

Main bathroom shower water sealed.

Re-selecting main tiles

Got a call today from Tiles Direct, our tiles supplier, informing me that the main area tiles I selected, are no longer available, discontinued. They asked me if I could visit their showroom ASAP to select alternative tile, as they are planned for delivery tomorrow.

So I had to leave work for nearly 4 hours to drive to Seven Hills, select and alternative tile and drive back. At least if they would have alternative. Non of their tiles matched. No matte soft white tiles 400x400mm.

The closest colour I could choose was that had a bit of cream, but close enough I guess.

(Original at bottom)

Photos really do not show the subtle difference. (Original on right)

Lets hope they will get the kitchen in next week.

Progress from the inside

I met up with the Site Supervisor, who made a special trip to open the house and let me in to show me the progress.

It was fantastic to see how things are coming along. All cornices, skirting and architraves are done. All the internal doors are in place, except robe sliding doors. The SS expects the kitchen to arrive in the next few days and wet area preparation done as well.

In the next few weeks, lot of internal work will be in progress, in parallel. The best words out of my SS's mouth was "possible PCI by end of April". I know it is exciting, and as a promise to him, I will not hold him for it, but I'm confident he will deliver.

Front main door and garage door. Initially our door was smaller with narrow sections on the sides. Then we changed our minds to one wide door. Not knowing how BIG our main door would be, when opened, it will overreach the garage door. miscalculation on our part that we have to live with. Nothing major though.

Bathroom items delivered

Internal stairway

Laundry items delivered

Downstairs linen. My office.

In few weeks time our SS will organise another quick walk through to make sure all items are as per plan and ready for PCI for end of April (possible hand over in mid May)

Some electrical work done

Looks like some external electrical cut-in work has happened today (Not sure inside).
Front door. I would have preferred the ceiling cut joint the other direction.

Outdoor lights point

Outdoor light for future alfresco

Back laundry door

I had a peek inside and from one window gap I could see the internal stairs done (yey!), but not visible enough for a photo. Maybe when I meet the SS next week, hopefully, as he cancelled this week's both Tuesday's and Thursdays inspection appointments.

We are at Lock-up!

This morning I received progress payment invoice for lock-up stage, and surly enough visit to the site, the main doors were in and locked! So no more access to the inside.

The main front door as well as back laundry door have old used door handles, I presume "workers lock".

I also noticed an extra water tap on the right hand side of the building just popped out today, not on plan. I'm not complaining!

Now that I cannot go in, time to inspect outside work.

Looks like at quite a few places some of the mortar has come off, like the one in the picture below, that needs to be re-done later.
