Driveway Complete

On Saturday, we had all the trucks come in and work on the driveway, now all complete.

Two truck loads of cement

Cement being pumped

Cement being rendered

Driveway done!

On the same day, we had our furniture move, ready to live in as soon as we get our Occupational Certificate. By the end of the day, we were exhausted!

Council crossing done

The council crossing driveway section is now complete.

Yes, they even set up the mailbox.

Brick, to stop sinking. a metal bar to stop from lifting off! How good is that! I did not even ask for it.

My friend concreter, Victor, hard at work.

The finished job.

Driveway half way

Finally the sun came up, and will stay for the rest of the week.

Today, the driveway is now half way done. All formwork complete. Tomorrow we will have the crossing pour, then on Saturday, the main section.

The driveway will have same colour as our gutters and main door` ColourBond Loft©.

We also had the Masterton electrician come in and add the missing power pint in the garage for the vaccum unit. Punched few holes in to get the wiring across, as it's not possible from the roof, as there is no access. This is something Masterton missed and now costing them to come back and do it again. They will have to come back to patch the wall and paint.

Well, this Saturday, also booked for removalists for the big move!

Not sure how both parties will work together. Gulp!!

Landscaping Day 2

By mid morning, most of the backyard is already laid with lawn. The front yard levelled, even ready for the driveway people!

It is all looking good. Glen, our landscaping guy, is doing over and above the job, with detail. Very happy. They only need to come back for half a day, once the driveway is done.

Driveway & Landscaping

Over the course of last week I had few driveway and landscaping people come in to measure and quote.

So far I had 1 quote for driveway and 1 for landscaping.

Driveway: coloured concrete $14,500 (Bark) or $15,500 (Colourbond Loft, to match).
Landscaping: $9500 with Sir Walter Buffalo (355sqm), 20 Tonne fill, retaining wall, paving, all machinery hire and man power.

New driveway kerb will move to the right. Half way from current path and extend another 1/2 size. The total width will be the length of the 2 middle fence sections.

More quotes should come in this week.
