Insulation complete

Today, the insulation was done. Here are some photos.

In our tender, we have been charged $220 for rubbish bin with lid for food scrapes. I mentioned to Masterton, and this is what we got. Expensive sign! I think I need to be bit more firm. Get one or refund.

Finally, all roof tiles done

Finally, the last bit of the roof tiles are done. Expecting a bill very soon!

Also delivered, the insulation materials.

So, insulation should be done tomorrow, both perimeter walls and internal walls with "soundscreen".

The roof frames of the portico has also been done.

On Thursday, we should expect the gyprocks delivered for possible Friday start or Monday.

For 9 years we lived here, this plant never flowered. Must be a sign of good omen or karma.

Rain, Rain, Go away!

Rain foretasted all of next week. I bet you anything, the small section of our roof tiles not completed last week, will claim rain days! AND no work will be carried forward. As if work was going anywhere, now it will be at stand still.

The issue with our air-con dropper point (move from one room to the correct room, on the other side of the wall) still issue, as the plan clearly states box square corner, but the move done (finally after months of asking), but a corner triangle. The carpenter taken the quick way out of it. I hope our SS will correct this ASAP. Not Happy M!

It looks like only few hours of work per week is being done. This week, eaves installed. That's all!

The lower eaves are now installed and ready for paint.

most of the rubbish was also removed and land cleaned, as it was promised.

Inspection is on Monday 25/2/2013, then insulation on 27/2/2013. We already paid for the extra sound insulation.

Looks like the lower roof tiles have just fallen short of completion.

As half of them broken, two piles off...

Lucky the back lower roof is complete.

Bricks Tagged to frame

The bricks are now tagged to the frame all around the house.

The balcony railing posts are now in place too.

Safety Rails

The safety rails for lower roof tiles have been installed today.

Lower gutters done

The lower roof gutters are now installed. Hopefully roof tiles is next, like, tomorrow?! lol.

I have to now organise a day next week for the Private Inspector to check and report on the structure, before insulation is installed. The construction looks fine to my eye, but having a professional look into it is a safer option. Few $100 is well worth the peace of mind.

Next, we should have the lower roof tiles installed, hopefully by end of the week.

Meeting with SS

Had a quick meeting with SS to go over any issues (i.e. Air-Con dropper point etc) and overall was happy with the results.

Our SS was also happy for me to report any issues or items placed in the wrong place, size or colour and SMS it to him, saving lot of time.

I was hoping eaves would be painted today, but no work was being carried out. I hope they finish top floor outdoor work complete by end of this week and scaffolding coming down next week for lower level work.

Internal cabling work

All data cabling has been run through. These include TV, Foxtel, CAT6, Alarm & antenna on the roof.

We also have the ducted vacuum ducts installed and wired with 4 outlets.

Also some carpentry work for the bases of all the wash basins.
