As expected, the next day the slab was poured, we received the BIG first progress invoice amount.
I just hope the bank will move quickly to make the transfer, so we can move to the next phase of the build` the frames.

Slab done
Finally, the first stage of the construction progress is done. The slab is poured this morning and by lunch time, formwork was being pulled down.
I guess the next step is to pay the first invoice payment!

Met the Site Supervisor (SS)
Just dashed down the site for a quick look, even though I had a feeling nothing was going to happen today, I ended up meeting the new Site Supervisor` Phillip.
He informed me the slab pour is booked for tomorrow (22/11/12), and it is all looking good.
There is a 5 day waiting period for the cement to settle and dry, so frames are expected first week of December, giving them 3 weeks to complete the frames.
I asked if frames would be up before the holidays, he said "for sure". Good to know.

Plumbing work done
Visited on Saturday morning and saw the main plumbing work complete.
I'm hoping to have the slab poured by end of the week.

Formwork perimeter
Looks like the formwork perimeter has started. We can now clearly see how big and final location of the house plan will be.
I still think the progress is too slow. It is now a month since Masterton started, and not much has happened. It feels like 1 or max 2 hour job is being carried out every few days, just to show someone is doing something, no matter how small.
Patience...

Finally, next step done
Upon visiting the site today, I found bunch of guys just finishing off the peering work. Looks like the 2 deep trenches dug, one at the front and one at the back, are for peering and support, not for rainwater tank as I previously thought.
Here are some photos.

Quiet again
Over a week, and still no activity on our site. Not too happy, as the temp SS told me last week they will have some work done that did not happen, and still nothing.
He was talking about slab by this Friday. I doubt it will even be next Friday as rain is in the forecast. Here we go now with 'rain day' claims.
It has been now 2 months since we moved out, and at this rate, w will be here for a while. Not happy.

Not much progress this week
Not much has happened this week, other than sediment control around the fences and sand bags.
The house area is now twice what the old house was, plus the second level. It will be big! Hardly any backyard left, lol.

Speaking to our site supervisor (SS)` Richard, he hopes to have slab by end of next week and possible frames by end of the month. I won't hold for it, but if it does happen, he'll be in my good books for sure.
Also got a call from the gas company that will install new gas lines to the house very soon.

Formwork in progress
On Wednesday, we had few piles of soil delivered. Funny, I had to sign a paper so that is any soil had to be taken away I agreed to pay for it. Now we have soil delivered? Must be a standard deal, just in case.
On Thursday, the below ground rainwater tank location has been dug and the house formwork soil levelled.
It starting show show how much of the land the house will take. Hardly any backyard left. LOL!
