Work continues...

Saturday, visited the site and saw the brick layers (4 of them) working.
Had a quick chat and looked around.

Now that the brick is high enough, we can see what the house brick colour will really look like. I guess, once the front facade second brick colour is done, it will look as we had planned.

The best news ever! He said they will only stop work on public holidays and Sundays. He said brick will finish by mid January! How great is that? Since our SS told us bricks won't start till January.

I'm over the moon.

I went and brought the guys some cold "drinks" for a thank you and as xmas gift. It will go down well for the hot day it is today :-)

Anchoring of the bricks to the frame

Hmmm... not sure if this is a WHS (OH&S) issue. I hope it will not break the window glass or scratch it. Seriously though! this can cause someone to get hurt.

Scaffolding up

The scaffolding was being put up yesterday and today. I believe today is the last day of work, as Masterton will start the holiday period from tomorrow till the 14th of January, as per the letter we received.

The brick laying was also in progress at the back of the house. Later on this afternoon I will visit the site and take more photos of the progress.

Termite control complete

Had a quick meeting today with a landscaper for a quote, at the same time a quick chat with SS.

Looks like the termite control Graniteguard has been done this morning, so the brick layer will continue tomorrow for few days till the xmas break for 3 weeks (I'm hoping less).

Visiting today, looks like the slab level brick work is now complete.

Next, they have to install the termite protection Graniteguard before continuing the brick laying.

A visit to site with the family on a Saturday and quick look I realise brick work has already started.

The brick layer must have come in on this morning, as it was not there yesterday afternoon. I'm aesthetic, as brick work was not due till next week!

Initial bricks delivered

Quick visit at lunch time, and noticed the initial bricks are delivered today.

The plumbers were also there finishing off the internal plumbing.

I was hoping the roof thrusts would be up today, but looks like it would be next week.

Second floor done.

Upon visit this afternoon, looks like the second level is done. I hope tomorrow we will have the roof thrusts done. I recall our SS mentioning crain coming on Friday to lift them up.

Looks like there is a small issue with the location of air-con ducting wall position. They have placed it in one of the bedrooms, rather than on the other side, in the upstairs living room corner. (see pic below).

I did send a pic and the plan to our SS and explained that this corner wall needs to move on the other side like on the plans. I'm sure he will attend to it before roof is installed or "it's too late".

Ready for second floor

Not much has happened today due to uncertain weather conditions, but they have placed the second floor frames up, ready for the next two days to finish off, I hope.

Looks like the beam across the garage is in place.

Bricks are due next Monday.

Ground level windows installed

I met with the SS today for a quick chat. He is cool. He has higher hopes of finishing the house than me. Even under sprinkling rain, the workers were doing work finishing off ground level.

Later today on my way home gave a quick visit and discovered all of the ground level windows have been installed. Sneaked in and took some photos.
