Finally some work

Visiting the site during my lunch break, the painters were in doing the undercoat of the ceilings.

Still no work from the tilers, and the painters were a bit annoyed as they cannot finish off, if tiling is not complete in all the wet areas and they will be forced to come back.

Work stopped

Friday, no work done. Monday, no work done. Tuesday, no work done.

Looks like work has stopped with wet areas only half done.

  • Laundry skirting tiles still not done.
  • Powder room skirting tiles not done.
  • Main bathroom bath still no tiles.
  • Main bathroom shower has no wall tiles.
  • Main bathroom skirting tiles not done.
  • Main bathroom basin not installed.
  • Bedroom 2 robe doors not installed yet.
  • few windows still have to architraves.

According to the SS, we should have had the painters on today. Yeah right!

Wet area progress

Most of the wet area tiles are now done. I expect to finish off by end of the week. Yay! Painting should start next week or so.

Wet area flooring

I drove by yesterday, saw some work being done. Sand & cement being mixed. I guess preparing the wet area floor tiles. Also saw some concrete slabs and some tiles for the front door slab & steps area.

I hope wet area tiling will start today, though I did not see any tiles delivered, but they could be upstairs already.

Architraves nearly done

Visiting the site today noticed most of the door and window architraves are done.

Built in robe sliding doors are also nearly done

Main bath granite top is still missing, due to the fact that yesterday, the workers must have damaged or done a wrong cut, and now needs a new one. Saw odd cut granite top in the bin.

Front door leveling

I think the front door leveling issue is fine.

As can be seen, the slab is perfectly level.

The lighter colour brick with the termite control plastic has a bit of angle.

The front slab darker brick level is fine too.

I think once the front door slab goes on, it will be all level. The front door slab will be 30mm below main slab level anyway.

I will ask the Site Supervisor if the 1cm difference will have any impact to the rest of the bricks on the left of the house.

The top of the door, where the metal beam is, looks level. I guess, balanced by bit of extra mortar in between bricks.

Very slow progress

So far this week, all we had is the kitchen installed and most of the granite bench-tops. Main bathroom is still missing.

Most of the internal architraves done, but not complete. only 2 of 3 wardrobe doors done.

Most days, hardly any work done, or non at all.

Is my eye playing tricks or the gap under the main door bigger to the left? I did take the photo with the guide line parallel to the door, plus you can see the slab on the left, but not on the right... You can see on the right the gap is below the brick mortar, but above the mortar on the left. The brown bricks below will also show the main bricks behind are not level.

I'm sure a "she'll be right mate" will be the comment.
