Looks like the window frames were delivered today. I hope the rain stops, so the work can continue.
Meeting with the Site Supervisor tomorrow for a quick chat.

Rain, rain, go away!
It is raining today, well sprinkling, so no progress of work (not sure). I hope it will clear by tomorrow.
Upon a quick visit on Saturday with the family at the site, discovered that more frames for the second level had been delivered.
This is the view of rumpus room stacker door and family room. We have planed to build a nice decking for an alfresco setting, then steps leading down to the backyard.

Here is a sneak view of the back of the house. Masterton will construct a concrete steps from the laundry.

Lower frames started today
Had a quick visit at lunch time today, and as expected, the frames are up!
This is a very exciting moment, as we can now visually see where things are and how big the rooms will be, not to mention, how big the house will end up.

Yesterday, all external plumbing was completed. This does not include the underground detention tank. Looks like they will have to dig again for it later.
Today, not much has happened, but a small scaffolding was setup. I guess frames will start tomorrow.
On another note in regard to bank loans, they do not tell you the details, and expect you to know, and if you don't know, you can end up with some issues.
We are not borrowing the whole build amount from the bank. We will use our life savings to pay for some of the costs. Our idea was that the bank will pay its share and we will do the last progress payment from our savings. But, No! The bank expects you to pay the balance in advance and them to make the last payment. They don't tell you this.
So, here we are waiting for the bank's inspector to visit the site and report back to them, delay of a week. I chase up and they tell me the above 'rule', they won't pay the invoice until we pay our part. So we are now one week behind in paying the invoice.
Lucky, Masterton knows this and has agreed to extend the invoice due date till this Friday.
We already received the second progress payment invoice!

Good progress
Just today we had the frames delivered, ready for assembly sometime this week.
Also, we had the plumbers doing the drainage system and digging for the underground rainwater detention tank.
Did I mention it was sprinkling down and wet, while they continued to work? I guess they are just as eager to finish the job, as I am.

1st Progress Invoice
As expected, the next day the slab was poured, we received the BIG first progress invoice amount.
I just hope the bank will move quickly to make the transfer, so we can move to the next phase of the build` the frames.

Finally, the first stage of the construction progress is done. The slab is poured this morning and by lunch time, formwork was being pulled down.
I guess the next step is to pay the first invoice payment!
