We have just been booked for our internal colour selection appointment on the 18th of July. It will be a full day to select all of our internal colours, benchtops, kitchen, vanities etc.
We hope by this time our plans would be ready to submit to CDC for DA approval.
While waiting for DA approval, we will need to do our air-con, electrical and alarm appointments.

Contract signed
Signed the contracts and paid 5% deposit this morning.
Now we wait for the CDC plans preparation and colour selection appointment for the next 3-4 weeks.
I managed to re-visit some of the display homes and take lots of photos of kitchens, bathrooms, vanities etc, to give us some more idea on our internal selections.
P.S. Finally, this morning, when I did the final plans sign-off, they had the right plans! After 4 times trying to correct the same issue...

Floor selections
Looks like I'm able to give a visit to another tiles supplier, Tiles Direct, to see if I can find matching 'white' tiles from the same manufacturer and range, but with at least 2 of the sizes` 450x450 & 300x300.
As we have selected timber laminate floors for upstairs, I need to make an appointment to visit Accent Floors and make the choice.

Selection Issues
Like our brick selection, we had no clue what range we are allowed in the tender before you pay them $3500, then all brochures they have are pictures of houses with most expensive bricks, giving you the feel that those are your normal choices. Turns out nothing even close!
Even the Facade, they give a price and show you a picture what it looks like, later in the tender, it has extra for render, colour, this that, so much so that we ended-up just bricks, even then, choosing a second colour shade of the same brick range, they will charge us $500.
Just been to tiles selection today, same crap. All allowed range of tiles are useless. They do not have a set of a colour in all required sizes, like 300x300 (wet floor areas), 300x600 (bathroom walls) & 600x600 (general floors). I had to mix and match to get best matching colours. UNLESS! I upgrade to porcelain range, then every damn colour on the plant comes in a set! at a cost of extra $15k for me. That is double the allowed in the tender.
Our choice was to have all white everywhere, such a general and simple colour. You think they would have it? Nop. It is fine if you like your floors different colour then the walls, but nothing of same colour.
So now we will spend lots of $$'s for the house and have tiles that do not match, floors are different to bathroom floors, different to bathroom walls.
When I ask Masterton about why I cannot choose before I sign, Masterton's answer was "we informed you about the process right at the beginning". Nothing to get out of their way to accommodate a simple request.
I told Masterton I would have been happy to pay $15K for a crap tiles, as long as I was aware of it and I had the choice beforehand.
Confusing and frustrating times.

A sample façade
Here is a photo of another similar house that has the same facade and brick design as we intent to have. Even though the house in the photo is a Vilina 28, but the Contemporary Facade is what we are after.
We received our final corrected tender and it all looks ok. The final plans should be ready by Friday, followed by the contract to be signed sometime next week.
The clock has started ticking and we need to move on with our packing up and storing our staff in storage.
Need to also organise rental to move into once the place is ready for demolition.

Frontage resolved
Looks like a recalculation and surveying again, we now can get back our 7.2 meter frontage. This is good news.
This will be reflected in our final plans, when we receive them next week, 3 weeks after last plan meeting and signing.
We have now stated to pack up our items into boxes and placing them in hired storage. Some items will be sold on eBay or given to charity, and no, we will 'try' not to replace those items and fill the house with useless items again. lol.

Waiting period
This is a short waiting period for Masterton to draw our final plan and tender for us to go over and sign.
I need to visit our tiles supplier, Dons Tiles to select our floor and bathroom tiles, to square those selections away and ready for colour selection day.
Kitchen and bathroom colour selection, as well as taps and shower heads are just about selected too.
Few more weeks and we should see things rolling.
